Axpo Italia – Milan
Milan, Corso Italia, 3
Interior design: Vemworks – Emanuele Corte, Vittoria Fiorito, Marco Dellatorre. Construction Management and bespoke production by EXTRAVEGA.
In the beating heart of Milan, in the refined Corso Italia, on the 5th floor of the historic building TheAngle – nicknamed the little Flatiron – the offices of Axpo Italia are conceived with the same language design of the Genoese headquarters.
An open space characterized by an elegant and refined aesthetic, combined with rock elements, reveals two meetings rooms, office areas, relaxation area with kitchen and break area, an executive meeting room overlooking the Milanese panorama, located in the “tip” of the building. “An interior project must represent the essence of the context in which it is inserted »says the architect Corte, and so the offices of Axpo in Corso Italia narrate the elegance of the ancient “Milanese salons” revisited with a contemporary mindset.
The master-executive meeting room is obtained through equipped walls built by EXTRAVEGA. One side is dominated by audio-video with 100-inch monitors provided by TIS the workplace revolution. They are affiliated with EXTRAVEGA as well as LG, a platinum partner in the installation of video information technology. The other side of the equipped walls, instead, has a wooden niche for the coffee machine and water dispenser.
As in the Genoa office, the open space tables are made of Fenix laminate, designed with a central multifunctional structure with double-sided chest of drawers and opening technical area. “The harmony and elegance that are revealed in this space – explains Corte – express the sophisticated history of Corso Italia and its innate elegance, but a rock trait cannot be overlooked. That incisive sign, sometimes hidden, which defines my design signature. I wanted to keep that stylistic language that characterizes the Axpo offices creating an eclectic wall: a wall that is literally covered from the traditional metal plates placed near the electric cables. Nameplates depicting a skull with the words “Whoever touches the cables, dies”. A scenic backdrop that appears as an artistic work and at the same time ironic…”
Also for the Milan offices, EXTRAVEGA handled all aspects: from the installation of the electrical systems engineered by Lombardini 22 to the realization of the double-sided equipped walls in the master-executive room, and up to the production and installation of all the internal fittings. Maintaining the agreed timing for the delivery of all offices, up and ready to go!
